Burgess Hill
One of the most rapidly growing towns in Mid Sussex, Burgess Hill dates back to the 17th century when it was home to a flourishing brick and tile industry but like it’s northerly neighbour Haywards Heath it owes much of its success to the 1840’s railway with two mainline stations (Burgess Hill & Wivelsfield) and the A23 that provides excellent transport links to London, Brighton and Gatwick.
There is a great range of properties in the town from substantial modern homes to unique character properties that will suite any style.
The Martlets shopping centre has a wide range of stores and restaurants including an indoor market.
To the west of the main town lies Victoria Industrial Estate, a development on the site of the former Victoria Pleasure Gardens, where you can find a wide range of stores and services from building supplies and pet stores to superstores and garages.
St John’s Park lies in the centre of the town with its cricket green, tennis courts, café, children’s playground and skate park providing an ideal place to enjoy the great outdoors.
To the south east of the town is Ditchling Common Country Park that, because of its diverse habitat, has become a site of special scientific interest and is a beautiful place to see the spring Bluebell bloom.
